
I was asked recently, “What is your passion?” The answer is simple, fantastic
food. For my entire life I have been 100% immersed in the manufacturing of
quality Italian foods. My parents, Aurelio and Bianca Marangon, settled in
Griffith, NSW in the early 1960’s. Griffith was appealing to Italians because of
it similar weather conditions to Italy and having a large group of people that
spoke our language. My parents started processing their olives that they grew
and sold them to local markets under the Koala brand.
In 1984 I returned
to Griffith after attaining a degree in food technology and working for a couple
of multinational food manufacturers. My Father was ready to retire so I
purchased the brand and business Koala Gourmet Foods from him and set out to
develop the range and expand distribution. In 1999, I was ready to expand the
company even further and felt that a new name would entice potential markets.
Riverina grove was created and so were several new opportunities. Now I am happy
to say that we have 6 different labels with over 25 products to
offer.
All of my products are preservative
free, GM free, gluten free, pasteurised for product stability and do not
have any artificial colours or flavours. We are HACCP and Kosher Certified, and
practice at a high level of food safety. My products are not only
made in the Riverina, 85% of our ingredients are also sourced from the Riverina.
After 25 years of operation I am proud of every product that is produced
and I hope that you enjoy them as much as I do.
